About Me:
I joined the RCAF in June of 1964 and retired as a MWO CD1 in 1989, I was an Aero Engine Technician until 1978 when I became a Flight Engineer. After Manning depot in St. Jean Quebec I did my tech training in Camp Borden and Cold Lake Albert were I took the CF104 course. After Cold Lake I was posted to 4 wing Baden-Baden Germany, from there on to Chatham N.B. on the CF 101 Voodoo until 1974. From Chatham I was sent to the ELTU in Camp Borden On as military instructor.
While in Camp Borden I was able to attend a Tech Crewmen’s course, shortly after that I remustered to Flight Engineer. After taking the CH 135 Twin Course in Chatham and Petewawa I was posted to 424 Transport & Rescue Squadron in Trenton On were I participated in 36 rescues 12 of which were live.
In 1980 I was transferred to 405 Squadron in CFB Greenwood N.S. on the CP 140 Aurora, after a few years I was sent to 404 Training Squadron were I instructed in the classroom, the simulator and in the air on the CP 140. From here I retired in 1989.
