Gregg McIntyre Johnston
Gregg was born in Rosetown, Saskatchewan Apr 1920. Gregg reported for active duty as a pilot in R.A.F. Bomber command, Sq. 408 in Bournemouth, England, early in 1942. In early 1943, Squadron 408 was transferred to R.C.A.F. command at Leeming. Gregg died 18 August 1943 in Brandenburg, Germany, at 23 years of age. He managed to get all his crew out of his damaged plane after it was hit, but did not get out himself. He was promoted to Pilot Officer posthumously and cited for valor later.
Another legacy to Gregg happened during Sask Centenial.
My Uncle Frank Johnston and my brothers Gregg and James travelled to Northern Sask to have a set of Falls dedicated to our cousin.
Johnston Falls is located on the Grease River in Northern Sask. Canada.
