David Robert (Bob) Traxler was born on the 29th of June 1921 in Edmonton, Alberta. He enlisted in the Canadian Army on the 3rd of December 1942. Theatres of Service were Canada, Britain, and the Central Mediterranean area. The medals he received were the 1939-45 Star, Italy Star, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp and the War Medal 1939-45.

Private Traxler was killed in action of the 2nd of June 1944 while serving with the 1st Canadian Special Service Battalion. He is buried in Plot 17, Row D, Grave 4 of the Beach Head War Cemetery, Anzio, Italy.
