My Great Great Grandfather Arthur Lissimore emigrated from England in 1908 to Canada. When the First World War started in 1914 he joined the Seaforth Highlanders in Vancouver. He returned from the war with severe problems after being mustard gassed. He raised his family in Ocean Falls, B.C. He had two children a daughter named Pearl and a son named Ken Lissimore. He had to return to Shaunghessy Hospital in Vancouver, once a month for treatment as a result of the mustard gas. While his health remained poor, he managed to open a jewelry store in Ocean Falls and take care of his family
