A Tribute to My Loved Ones

"A Tribute to My Loved Ones"

Proud to be Canadian were my Mother,(the late) Lila
Green Baker, born in Watrous, Saskatchewan, growing up in
Winnipeg, Manitoba, enlisting and serving, as a sergaent, in the Canadian Women's Army Corps, during WWII: and my (late) husband, Gregory D. Gold, growing up in Edson, Alberta, retiring (1997) as a Chief in the Canadian Navy with thirty years service.
They both appreciated the freedoms and rights our
great country offers us. They were fiercely loyal and
patriotic to a country that made them proud! Their legacy
to us,their family, was (is) their unshakeable and
unwavering pride and love of Canada. For that, we honor them with a tribute of love and remembrance.
Here in Canada, the Legion uses the familiar poppy as a reminder of them- and all others- who made sacrifices for this great nation.
It has been our privilege to have known and loved them ...Let us remember them this year and always with pride and love..."at the going down of the sun, we WILL remember them."
