Remembrance Day - by Ms. Freeze's Grade 4 Class
The following were written by my grade 4 class in honor of Remembrance Day.
"We have a Remembrance Day ceremony for the people who went to the war and died. On Remembrance Day we remember the people that were brave and sacrificed their lives to make Canada a free country" - Raphael age 9
"We have a Remembrance Day ceremony to remember the great and brave men and women that were brave enough to fight in the war" - Cassie age 9
"On November 11th we remember the teenagers who went to fight across the ocean for freedom. They didn't have rain coats, they just had cotton or wool coats. The solidiers believed in peace, so they fought for it" Angeni age 9
"My Grandpa and Grandma fought in the war. My Grandma checked parachutes to see if they were okay to use. My grandpa went up to doors and checked them to see if they were Americans or Germans" -Zach age 9
"We have a Remembrance Day ceremony to remember the people who fought in the wars. The people that fought in the wars made a huge difference in the world. If those people hadn't have done that, we wouldn't be living like we are now" -Lara age 9
"We have a Remembrance Day ceremonies so we can remember our veterans and think about what they did. They went to war so we could live in peace and happiness" -Juliet age 9
"We have a Remembrance Day ceremony to remember the brave men and women who fought for us" -David age 9
"We have a Remembrance Day ceremony because it is important to remember all the soldiers that died in the World Wars. Remembrance Day is a very serious time. I feel sad on Remembrance Day" -Dahyun age 9
