A Family Proud to Serve

I would like to pay tribute to my Great Grandfather, Grandfather and my Father. Hero's to me that gave years of there lives so that others my have the same freedom we have here in Canada. My Great Grandfather, Scott Dimock Eaton, served in 1914-1918 with the Nova Scotia 25th Overseas Infantry Battalion in France, and agian with the Vetrans Gaurd of Canada in 1939-1945 here at home. My Grandfather told me the story that when the Second World War broke out and my Great Grandfather said he wanted to fight agian, he caused his wife to burst in to tears, but he just smiled and laughed and said "dont worry, I just want another crack at the hun, I have'nt had my fill yet." And had I had the great pleasure to meet him, I am sure he would have had some storys to tell.

My Grandfather, Beecher Scott Eaton, served with the Royal Canadian Navy from 1950-1952, 1955-1979, first as a stoker and then as a Naval Air Tech. He's served on both of Canada's post war aircraft carriers the HMCS Bonaventure, and the HMCS Magnificent. My Grandfather has never ending knowladge of everything Navy. I always love just to sit and listin to him talk about the things he's done, and the things he's seen. Or walk around my granparents house and see the photos of the past.

My Father, Andrew David Eaton, served with the Canadian Army in the Communications and Electronics Branch from 1988-2005. He's been to places such as Yugoslavia and Bosnia and was one of the soliders to be present during the battle of the Medak Pocket in Croatia in 1993. Never the weak or shy man, my father has been my role model since the day I was born and I aspire to be like him every day of my life. He is now a proud member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, serving his country at home now.

These three men have been great influences in my life since I was born. They are both hero's and family members. I hope to also serve my country on my completion of high school, and these three men are the reason why. They have showed me to be proud of my self, my Queen and my country.
