Education

Connecting the people of Canada, both young and old, to their written and oral history has always been a challenge. In all of us is a desire to understand where we came from. Sharing our history with each other gives everyone a sense of belonging and a feeling of identity in our community. We’re a land of many wonders living under lucky stars. We come from multiple backgrounds and share a broad and far reaching international history. The search, collection and sharing of this knowledge with our online friends is the aim of this section of legionlegacies.org. Over the next several weeks and months we will be adding exciting and interesting links and content that will allow you to discover the rich heritage we have built and continue to build in Canada.

Special downloadable items, learning modules as well as live presentations will be made available with the ability for Educators to book online. Such as:

Suggested Memory Projects for schools,
Songs of Remembrance for choirs
Exciting One Act Plays detailing the History of WWII for School Theatre
A traveling Museum quality multi-screen presentation on the history of the Rise and Fall of the Third Reich and Japan 1936-45 which ties together our sacrifices for freedom with the challenge of teaching Social Responsibility to our Youth.

There will also be regular posting of Legion Competitions with great prizes!

Meanwhile, to help you begin an historical research project here are some links to excellent sites which have natural synergies with The Legion’s Legacies.
